The Vermont Foodbank is seeking a Field Representative for the Northern Region based out of our Wolcott branch. Reporting to the program manager, this is a full-time, year-round position.
This position is primarily responsible for implementing activities of the Vermont Foodbank’s Gleaning program and VT Fresh program. Gleaning responsibilities include coordinating gleans and working alongside volunteers to harvest excess or unmarketable produce from farms. VT Fresh activities include educating Vermont Foodbank’s network partners and food shelf visitors in improved utilization of fresh foods via cooking demonstrations and nutrition education activities. The field representative (FR) will develop new relationships and cultivate existing ones with local farms, Network Partners, and volunteers. Organization promotion and Network Partner outreach & visits will be a part of this position. FR will assist with the integration of fresh produce within Vermont Foodbank facilities, specifically the Manosh Branch (Wolcott). FR will maintain proper tracking, evaluation and reporting procedures as is specific to the Gleaning Program and the VT Fresh program, Foodbank receiving and distribution, and volunteer involvement. Position will require some instate travel and occasional weekends and evenings. This is a physical position that involves lifting, bending and driving a company pick-up truck.
