Join the Vermont Foodbank for our annual Hunger Action Conference at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel in Killington, Vermont.

 

This day-long conference is a valuable opportunity for charitable food providers and other non-profits, community and business leaders, volunteers, advocates, elected officials and concerned citizens to network, share their knowledge and experience, and learn from experts on the causes and effects of hunger as we work together to address the challenges we face in our communities. 

 

This year’s conference will explore the relationship between hunger, health and nutrition and offer tangible takeaways for addressing the dietary needs and well-being of our neighbors.

Continuing Education Credits

Hunger Action Conference 2015 Keynote

Keynote Title: Nutrition & Health for Life
Workshop Title: Practical Personal Nutrition: A simple approach to a steadily improving diet

 

Dr. Robert Murray has spent over 20 years in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. He is currently a professor of Human Nutrition at the Ohio State University in Columbus. Dr. Murray also served for three years as the Pediatric Medical Director for Abbott Nutrition before returning to Nationwide Children’s Hospital to establish the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition, which provided medical and bariatric surgical options for the pediatric obese population.

 

He has served for ten years on, and is the past chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council on School Health. Dr. Murray has been a member of the board for Action for Healthy Kids and for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation. Currently, he is President-elect of the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
