Event Proves it Can Help Vermonters in Need
The 2007 AIA Vermont Canstruction once again dazzled the public and raised food for the Vermont Foodbank in a creative way! Canstruction, now in its 3rd year, was again made possible by the generous support of TD Banknorth. Held at the University Mall on October 19-21st, the event featured ten teams who built imaginative structures completely out of cans! University Mall shoppers voted on their favorites and a panel of judges awarded six prizes to worthy Canstruction creations. Canstruction raised 21,434 pounds of food for the Vermont Foodbank, an increase of more than 3,000 pounds over last year and more than twice that of Canstruction 2005. Special thanks to the many that made this event possible: AIA of Vermont, Society for Design Administration, TD Banknorth, The University Mall, David Heath Photography, Shaw’s Supermarkets, and Price Chopper Supermarkets. An extra special thanks to all of our participating teams: MorrisSwitzer, Black River Design Architects, Mater Christi School, Gossens Bachman Architects, Creative Office Pavillion, Freeman French Freeman, Norwich University, Engineering Ventures, Truex Cullins Partners and Architects and Breadloaf Corporation.
