Second Annual Network Partner Hunger Conference





For a second year in a row, The Vermont Foodbank hosted a conference on hunger, entitled, Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope, at the Capitol Plaza on March 26, 2008.  The conference was designed for our Network Partners-the volunteers and staff of more than 270 food shelves and pantries, meal sites and senior centers and after school programs throughout the state.   Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope included ten different educational and food-based workshops, hunger experts America’s Second Harvest and Vermont, a keynote address by Edward Cooney, the Executive Director of the Congressional Hunger Center, and a Governor’s Task Force on Hunger Field Hearing, which provided Network Partners the opportunity to testify on specific issues facing their clients and sites.   Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope earned some rave reviews.
