Westland/Hallmark Meat Company (Westland) recalled nearly 145 million pounds of beef products because the product may contain foreign material/non-microbial contamination

The following food recall contains an item that was recently in inventory at the Vermont Foodbank. Shopping list Item ASH15769 assorted flavored beef jerky is part of this recall.  Please see the attachment for specific case codes and production codes of the items being recalled.  Please check your inventory for these items and dispose of them immediately.  Remember your program my have also obtained these items in local donations, local purchases or food drives.

Westland/Hallmark Meat Company (Westland) recalled nearly 145 million pounds of beef products because the product may contain foreign material/non-microbial contamination.  

ConAgra has now been notified by Westland that its recall now extends to beef-based product. This product includes Slim Jim, Pemmican and Harley-Davidson flavored beef jerky.  

Please note that the USDA has determined that the risk of any adverse health consequences from the use of this beef is remote.
