Slade Gorton & Co is issuing a voluntary recall of its "ICYBAY" cooked, ready to eat, frozen Langostinos
Please take note of the following food recall. Langostinos are shellfish that are some what between a shrimp and a lobster ( I never heard of them till this recall). Although the Foodbank did not stock or distribute this recalled item, please check your inventory in the event your program may have obtained this item through local donations, food drives or purchases. Please immediately dispose any recalled items. Slade Gorton & Co is issuing a voluntary recall of its "ICYBAY" cooked, ready to eat, frozen Langostinos because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
