The Vermont Foodbank 4th Annual Hunger Conference

The Vermont Foodbank 4th Annual Hunger Conference
Understanding the Persistence of Hunger and Poverty

We are pleased to announce that the Vermont Foodbanks 4th Annual Hunger Conference will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Join us for lunch, keynote and afternoon workshops at the Sheraton Burlington located at 870 Williston Road in South Burlington.

The Vermont Foodbank's annual Hunger Conference is Vermont’s premier event for learning about the issue of hunger as it affects our state and our communities. It is a valuable opportunity to share, learn and discuss ideas regarding the important work of feeding our neighbors in need.

Join us for lunch and keynote speaker Joel Berg. A long time anti-hunger leader, Mr. Berg is the Executive Director of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger. He served for eight years in the Clinton Administration with the USDA. To read more about Joel’s thoughts on social change, including excerpts from his new book, visit www.joelberg.net.

During the afternoon, we have teamed up with the United Way of Chittenden County and Vermont’s Livable Wage Campaign to provide workshops designed to address some of the causes of hunger.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us for this important educational opportunity. Please check in at www.vtfoodbank.org for more conference details in the coming weeks and months. Registration will begin on February, 22nd.

If you have any questions regarding the Hunger Conference, please contact Emily Shipman at eshipman@vtfoodbank.org or (802) 477-4121.
