NAPA AutoCare Centers Fight Hunger, Free Windshield Wipers

Montpelier--When Amy Mattinat, Montpelier NAPA AutoCare Center owner heard that the Vermont Foodbank was in need of food donations, she decided to do something.   “I wanted to find a way to make a BIG difference and to utilize the large number of people that come into my business each month.  If I could get the other local Vermont NAPA AutoCare Repair Shops on board with my idea, we could collect a lot of food.”   And so Amy went to work. During the month of January, seven NAPA AutoCare Repair Shops will give free windshield wipers to customers who donate 3 non-perishable food items.  All food will be donated to the Vermont Foodbank.

The Vermont Foodbank is the state’s largest hunger relief organization, providing nearly 7 million pounds of food to more than 66,000 needy Vermonters each year.  Douglas O’Brien had this to say, “We are so grateful to Amy and the NAPA AutoCare Repair Shops around the state, for their ingenuity, generosity, and partnership in the fight against hunger.  They are raising awareness about the issue of hunger and collecting much needed food for our hungry neighbors.”

To participate, make an appointment for any service with one of the NAPA AutoCare Centers listed below, bring in your donation of three canned goods, and receive your free windshield wipers.
