I read this NYT article and wanted to share it with you.  Whether you agree with Professor Edelman’s conclusions or not, the facts he presents explain why the Vermont Foodbank and food banks across the country exist, and will continue to exist.  We need to set aside the “magical thinking” of the pundits, politicians and economists and look to what actually helps our neighbors transform their own lives.  It is hard work with lots of setbacks, because the solution is never the same for two people, or two cities, or two states.   But finding as many solutions as we can is essential to the long-term prosperity of our nation.
