Each year, the Vermont Foodbank distributes more than 8 million pounds of quality food to Vermonters in need of food assistance. Food is gathered from Vermont farms, manufacturers, grocery stores, businesses, individuals, schools, regional food banks, and Feeding America (FA), the national network of food banks.  These two charts show the types of food distributed by food banks nationwide (in the first chart) and those consumed per capita nationwide (in the second chart).
