National Life Group: Do good. Be good. Make good.

National Life Group

National Life Group is a Vermont-based Fortune 1000 company that offers life insurance, annuities, investments, and financial solutions in the form of estate, business succession, and retirement planning strategies through its affiliated companies.

Along with it’s employees, National Life Group strives to live it’s corporate values every day: “Do good. Be good. Make good.” This is evident not only in their corporate culture but in the volunteer time logged by hundreds of employees each year. Each employee has 40 hours of paid time annually to volunteer at a local nonprofit. The Foodbank is a popular choice. Beth Rusnock, the president of the National Life Group Charitable Foundation, is a member of the Foodbank’s board of directors.

National Life Group has been a loyal supporter of the Vermont Foodbank for nearly three decades, sponsoring events such as the Foodbank’s statewide  hunger conference and vital efforts aimed at protecting Vermont’s children, such as the BackPack Program. This summer the company will be the first-ever presenting sponsor of the Harpoon Point to Point bike ride to benefit the Foodbank.

Mehran Assadi, president and CEO, had this to say about National Life Group’s commitment to the Vermont Foodbank and ending hunger in Vermont:

“Our commitment is for the long-term. We are not going to stop until hunger is a thing of the past in Vermont. I believe that this is an achievable goal in our small state, where neighbors help neighbors and where individuals can make a critical difference. As we move into this brand new year, I am pleased that National Life Group will be the presenting sponsor of the Harpoon Point to Point. We think everyone should have fun while they ‘do good.'”
