“This is a door that’s opened for me to better my life.” That’s what Liz, a Community Kitchen Academy (CKA) student, had to say about her experience with the program.

This is the second part of three part video series on CKA, program that prepares underemployed and unemployed Vermonters for careers in the food service industry. Liz and other CKA participants work with instructors to transform rescued food and create meals that are then distributed through food shelves and meal sites in Vermont, developing a strong set of culinary skills as part of the program. CKA is a  partnership with Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf and Capstone Community Action.
