The Vermont Foodbank is hosting the Pack to Give Back event in Barre with support from Hannaford Supermarkets. Along with volunteers, the Vermont Foodbank will pack 400 holiday food boxes and distribute them to families in Washington County.

“No one should have to worry about whether they will have the nutritious food they need – especially during the holiday season when so many traditions are built around families coming together for special meals,” said Samara Bushey, who is Hannaford’s Director of Operations in Vermont.  “This partnership between Hannaford and the Vermont Foodbank will help hundreds of local families to celebrate without worrying whether they will have enough to eat.”

“Our bold vision for a Vermont without hunger starts with the gift of one meal,” said John Sayles, Vermont Foodbank CEO. “And while we work to end hunger for our neighbors every day, we are looking forward to this special Thanksgiving effort, just in time for the holiday.”
