Rutland, VT—The Vermont Foodbank is pleased to announce the promotion of Genna Williams to the position of Branch Manager for our Rutland Distribution Center. Williams has spent the past year and a half as the Vermont Foodbank’s Southern Region Gleaning Coordinator, leading teams of volunteers to harvest fresh produce from area farms. While collaborating with local farms and community groups to rescue thousands of pounds of fresh produce, she demonstrated her dedication to ending hunger along with excellence in the work she does.

A Vermont native, Genna grew up in Shaftsbury, VT. She completed her undergraduate degree in Government and African American Studies at Smith College in Western Massachusetts. After graduating, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for two years in Southwestern Montana. She has continued her education here in Vermont and is currently pursuing her MBA in Mission Driven Organizations at Marlboro College. Genna’s dedication to good, fresh food extends beyond her work at the Vermont Foodbank. When she isn’t at our Rutland distribution center, she can be found on the small berry farm she owns in Athens, VT.
