Fundraising

July 19th, 2017

In Vermont, it is easy to relax and enjoy the nature and opportunities surrounding us. But for some of our neighbors it’s not easy at all. Over 153,000 children, parents, seniors and individuals struggle with hunger in our Green Mountain State. Being hungry is devastating, and for some of us, it is a regular struggle. This is why we need super heroes like you.

Here at the Vermont Foodbank, we are putting the power of good into your hands. Imagine – you get to craft an event or occasion however you want, and you can do it for a cause and be a hero at the end of the day.
“What kind of event or occasion?” you ask? In the words of Buzz Lightyear, “To infinity, and beyond!”

These words might have been coined by a plastic spaceman as he attempted to escape back to Central Command, but Buzz Lightyear had a good point. Anything we can dream, we can try.

Volunteering your time may be challenging to fit in to your busy life, but with DIY Fundraising it’s all on your own terms. It’s your fundraiser to fight hunger, so you can set the parameters to fit your calendar.

Recent DIY Fundraisers include:

  • two brothers raising funds during their summer bike ride
  • a college alumni group raising funds from members who couldn’t attend a volunteer day
  • an exercise group who made a 7 day challenge for themselves to fight hunger
  • and more!

So ask yourself: are you ready for the challenge? If you can dream it, I can help you build it.
