Doing Good at Darn Tough Vermont: Company Donates 100% of Profits from Giving Tuesday to Vermont Foodbank
Proceeds allow Foodbank to provide 35,127 meals to Vermonters this holiday season
December 4th, 2017 – With one in four people in Vermont struggling with hunger, Northfield-based sock company, Darn Tough Vermont, donated 100% of their profits from online sales during this past Tuesday, November 28th to the Vermont Foodbank. Known as Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Darn Tough let fans turn their gift-giving purchases into an opportunity to do good.
“We have been a part of the Vermont community for almost four decades, and as a local family business, one of our primary responsibilities is to first and foremost do what’s right in our own backyard,” explains Ric Cabot, Darn Tough Vermont and Cabot Hosiery Mills President and CEO. “I can’t think of a more worthy cause than working with The Vermont Foodbank, an organization that has such a meaningful impact on our community and state.”
As a result of this past week’s collaboration, Darn Tough customers were able to provide 35,127 meals to Vermonters this holiday season.
