COVID-19 Planning and Response

The need for food assistance is increasing rapidly

The Vermont Foodbank and our network of partner food shelves and meal sites throughout the state have been on the front lines addressing the hunger crisis that has emerged as a part of the pandemic and associated economic recession. Research released in May from Feeding America estimates that the number of food insecure people in Vermont has increased by 46% because of job losses and economic disruptions and is currently higher than at any point during the Great Recession, with children’s food insecurity is highest of all.

During this unprecedented time, we must work together to ensure that all are fed. We are all in this together.

GET HELP

The Foodbank is taking all measures possible to ensure that everyone can access food during this challenging time.

GIVE HELP

Here in Vermont, tens of thousands of people are out of work and household incomes have been plunging. The need for food assistance in our communities has reached a level unlike anything the Foodbank has seen since opening in 1986.

By donating to the Vermont Foodbank, you can help make sure that pantries are filled and that people are prepared to take good care of themselves and their loved ones.

It is more important than ever to ensure that anyone in Vermont who needs a meal can get one.
