Tap Into 3SquaresVT Food Benefits – You’re Entitled To It!

3SquaresVT, also called SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), is an entitlement program. What does this mean? It means that every person living in the United States has a legal right to redeem benefits when eligible. Your tax dollars have paid into the 3SquaresVT funding pot.

3SquaresVT is like insurance. We all pay into it, as individuals and families, so that it is there for us when we are eligible to receive benefits. And don’t worry! By receiving benefits, you are not taking resources away from anyone else. Every person that is eligible for 3SquaresVT will be approved, there is no cap on the number of people or families that can receive 3SquaresVT at one time. People choose to tap into 3SquaresVT for many different reasons and everybody’s reasons are legitimate—why you do so is personal and private to you.

Are you eligible? You may be eligible for 3SquaresVT if your household’s gross monthly income (before taxes, Medicare premiums, etc. are deducted) is below a certain dollar amount. This amount changes depending on household size. Consider someone part of your household if you purchase and prepare food with them. Eligibility criteria increase on an annual basis, click here to view the current eligibility guidelines and assess if you might be eligible.
