3SquaresVT: More than just food

Back in December, we wrote about the Vermont Foodbank’s efforts to connect older adults with food resources like 3SquaresVT. Since then, we’ve been trying out new methods to reach more older adults in Vermont through public housing sites, home visits, senior centers, and new partnerships. While we are proud of the work we do, it’s also not really about us.

Training Cooks, Nourishing the Community

Eleven newly-minted cooks from around Central Vermont were awarded diplomas on Thursday in Barre’s Old Labor Hall. Before dozens of family members, friends, and community supporters who came out for the ceremony, the CKA graduates accepted their diplomas and then celebrated their achievement by feeding the crowd an exquisite buffet-style meal that included smoked pork ribs, loaded potato salad poppers, meatballs, and many more nutritious foods.

VeggieVanGo Arrives in Randolph!

As a UVM dietetics graduate student and intern, I have spent the last two weeks with the Vermont Foodbank. During this rotation, I had the opportunity to participate in some amazing VT Fresh events. One of my favorites was experiencing the first VeggieVanGo event with Gifford Health Care.
