Hannaford donates nearly $200,000 to Vermont Foodbank to increase access to food for students statewide

Hannaford Supermarkets last week announced a $188,000 donation to the Vermont Foodbank, which will allow the non-profit organization to more than double the reach of its VeggieVanGo program and deliver fresh, healthy food directly to students and families who may not be able to visit a traditional meal site or food shelf at a total of 13 schools throughout Vermont.

Each year Attorney General Donovan's office leads the Lawyers Fighting Hunger Food Drive, which brings together law firms and lawyers from around the state to participate in a friendly competition that works to solve hunger in Vermont. The Attorney General has written this piece as a kick-off for the start of the annual food drive.
