Real stories from real people make a big difference in ensuring that everyone in Vermont has enough nourishing food.

Hearing directly from community members, like you, helps raise awareness about hunger in Vermont, informs people of ways they can get help, and inspires people to get involved in ending hunger.

How Are Stories Used?

Stories connect us, inspire us, and help us understand each other. The Foodbank uses stories in many ways to help end hunger. Stories can educate the public, promote programs and services, advocate for policy change, illustrate impact in the community, and more.

We publish stories in our quarterly newsletter, available online. We also publish stories on our blog, and share them to our Facebook and Instagram pages. Our advocacy team occasionally shares stories with legislators and government officials. Stories are also sometimes shared with donors or for fundraising purposes.

Vermont Foodbank does not allow other organizations, businesses, or media outlets to use our published content unless prior consent has been given by the individual sharing their story. In addition, we honor the intent and personal choices of each person who chooses to share their story with us.

Do you have a story about how hunger has affected you? Or why it is important to you to help end hunger? Would you be willing to share that story? If so, please fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch. Thank you for your consideration.
