Go ahead, spend your grocery money on the foods you love. We’ll cover the staples.
If you’re 60 or older, with Vermont Foodbank and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), you can save money on groceries and eat the nourishing, tasty foods you love. Each month you’ll receive a free box of food filled with a variety of staple foods through CSFP.
Is It Really Free?
Yes, it is! With CSFP you'll get:
Free enrollment with the help of a friendly Vermont Foodbank representative!
A free box of food each month with nourishing items like cheese, pasta, and vegetables!
Free delivery to designated locations throughout Vermont, and, you can have a friend or family member pick up your food for you!
Am I Eligible?
As a federal program, there are certain requirements that must be met to be eligible for CSFP:
- Must be 60 years of age or older.
- Must be living in Vermont.
- Individual and/or household income requirements apply. See below:

Additional Things to Know about CSFP
Each eligible person receives their own food box, and people enrolled in this program will pick up their box monthly at a designated location. Click here for a list of pickup sites. Please note—this list is for reference only. You will be assigned to a pickup site once your application is approved.
You’re also able to participate in other federal nutrition programs, such as 3SquaresVT, at the same time. Find out if you’re eligible for 3SquaresVT.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is a federal nutrition program that offers free monthly boxes of food filled with canned fruits and vegetables, juice, cereal, pasta, cheese, shelf-stable milk, and canned meats. CSFP participants can utilize additional federal nutrition programs such as 3SquaresVT. Income restrictions apply. Vermont Foodbank is an equal opportunity employer.
