Host a Fundraiser, Food Drive, or Event
At Vermont Foodbank, we define philanthropy as “facilitating the love of community.”
Are you looking for a way to get involved on your own time and within your own community? Turn your passion into action by starting a fundraiser, a food drive, or hosting an event to benefit your Foodbank!

Whether you’re interested in starting a fundraiser, food drive, or hosting an event, the information below will help you get started and connect you with a Foodbank staff member who can help you navigate the ins and outs of your chosen effort!
Did you know that food banks are able to purchase more food per dollar than the average consumer? That means a virtual fundraiser can provide more food for people facing hunger than a conventional food drive. For every $1 raised, Vermont Foodbank and our network provide more than $9 of nourishing food.
Anyone can host a fundraiser—including kids, families, community groups and businesses. By getting your network involved, you multiply your impact, raise awareness, and inspire action. Together, we can ensure that everyone in our state has access to nourishing food.
Organizing a virtual fundraiser is easy: you can get started right from your computer or smartphone with the online fundraising platform we use, called GoFundMe Pro. Just select the option below that best suits your needs. Then, follow a short set of instructions to build your fundraiser and share it widely with your network!

Virtual Fundraising Page
Create one customizable fundraising page for an individual, business or group to share with supporters.
Want to turn your event into an opportunity to help people facing hunger? Maybe you want giving back to be part of your wedding or birthday celebration. Or maybe you’re completing an athletic challenge and want to raise funds by inviting others to support your goal. Businesses and community groups can also use one shared fundraising page to engage their networks. If you want to raise funds through a single page, this is the option for you!

Team Fundraising Challenge
Create a team fundraiser with multiple, customizable pages for groups working toward a shared goal.
Interested in a little friendly competition in your fundraising? Maybe departments in your workplace would like to challenge each other, or teams from your community sports league want to compete off the field. If you’ve got multiple groups that each want to share their own page and track their progress, while working towards a collective fundraising goal to help neighbors facing hunger, this is the option for you!
Host a Food Drive
Food drives are a great way to engage your community and to support your local food shelf or meal site.
Vermont Foodbank staff can provide resources for your food drive and help find the best donation site for the food. We encourage food drive organizers to focus on the foods most needed by the donation site. Check out our list of partnering agencies in your area to find a food shelf or meal site to work with directly to accept your donation. You're welcome to download this customizable flyer to promote your event—simply add your location, time and date, and the organization that your food drive will benefit, and you're ready to print and distribute it!
Once you have the details worked out, fill out the form below to let us know about your food drive.
Host an Event
Vermont Foodbank is committed to ensuring that all of our efforts are laser-focused on meeting our core mission. We are fortunate that event hosts graciously absorb the planning, management, and logistics of their events. In doing so, they allow us to do what we do best—feed people. It is a privilege and an honor to work with these inspiring folks.
If you are interested in hosting an event, please see our Third Party Event Guidelines. Our hope is that these resources will ensure all third-party events are consistent with our values and meet the needs of the individuals or organization conducting the event/promotion.
When the details of your event are finalized, please feel free to let us know about it so we can list it on our events calendar. If you create a Facebook event, don’t forget to tag us so we can share your event on social media as well!
Please note that due to the volume of tabling and speaking requests, our physical presence at your event is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.
