Programs For Network Partners
As a Vermont Foodbank Network Partner you have access to more than just obtaining food through us. We also offer assistance with federal food programs and have a number of additional programs that you can implement at your organization. See the list below for details on various programs and how we can help.
Fresh Rescue
The Fresh Rescue Program connects a pre-approved group of food shelves and meal sites to make direct-to-store pick-ups of donated food items from grocery retailers. Donations consist of unsaleable, yet usable, perishable and non-perishable items. As a network partner, you may be eligible to participate in the Fresh Rescue Program. VT Fresh
VT Fresh expands access, improves availability and increases the utilization and consumption of fruits and vegetables. The program supports network partners to implement strategies for improving the food environment with simple taste tests, displays, promotions and messaging tools that help make it easier for food shelf visitors to choose fruits and vegetables. Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
The USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program distributes monthly boxes of canned vegetables, fruits, proteins, shelf stable milk items, cereal, juice, and pasta or rice to Vermonters 60 years of age or older who meet income guidelines. Network partners may request to become a pick-up site. Visit our CSFP page for more information.
3SquaresVT
3SquaresVT, federally referred to as SNAP, is a program that gives people money to purchase the foods they want, when they want. The Vermont Foodbank 3SquaresVT Team partners with network partners and other community organizations to help spread awareness about the program, breakdown stigma and enroll eligible neighbors. Our team can provide assistance with informational brochures and marketing materials, referrals, newsletter blurbs, trainings for network partner staff, in-person application assistance and more. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
To support American farmers and processors, the USDA purchases food with federal dollars that is then distributed to populations in need. The Foodbank distributes these TEFAP commodity foods to eligible food shelves and meal sites in Vermont.
