Green beans have a slightly sweet and grassy flavor, when eaten raw the taste is often described as “green”. Roasting highlights the sweetness of the green bean while taming the bitter grassiness. Roasted Green Beans are a delicious side dish to any meal, and they are so versatile you can eat them all the time! Change things up with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese or toasted almond slices, or with a squeeze of lemon or a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Easy recipes like this are great when you have limited cooking time but crave a tasty side dish or snack with a bit of crunch and a bunch of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 Pounds fresh green beans, washed and dried
  • 2-3 Tbsp olive oil

  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Main Ingredient(s): Green Beans

  • Roast for 12 – 15 minutes, tossing halfway through. Beans should be tender yet slightly crisp.

  • Feeling cheesy? Sprinkle with Parmesan.
