About VT Fresh

For over 10 years, the Vermont Foodbank successfully operated the VT Fresh program with funding and partnership from the VT Department of Health/SNAP-Ed (federal funding). The program was inspired by the incredible diversity and beauty of fruits and vegetables that grow locally in Vermont. The aim of VT Fresh was that everyone in Vermont would have access to these nourishing foods. We worked with partners on their food environments to create welcoming spaces and promote fruit and vegetable consumption, conducted taste tests, provided recipe kits, shared recipes, and more. See below for some of the impacts of this program when it was operating! When federal funding was eliminated in 2025, we shifted our focus to a resource hub to make sure that we could still provide tools and resources to our partners and individuals.
